Why have you stopped accepting credit/debit card payments in the UK?

Due to UK legislation, essentially.
Due to greedy larger businesses abusing the ability to pass on the cost of processing card payments and charging eye watering amounts more than it actually cost them, the UK government banned the separate itemisation of card payments, and, along with it, the ability to pass on the cost just to those making card payments - where cheaper payment methods were available.
This meant, in practice, that we had to add the cost of card processing on to all customers orders (5.65% with our previous provider in total), even if they themselves were not paying by card.
Subsequently, we sacked credit/debit card payments off completely in our UK market to make sure all of our clients get a fairer deal.
You can set up a standing order or pay by transfer in the UK. This is free for private clients and there is a small fee for small businesses (pence). For larger businesses, they usually have subsription based bank accounts and so many if not unlimited free transfers are included.
Overseas clients continue to be welcome to pay by SumUp (we'll set you up with a payment link that you can reuse) or you can transfer money by international bank transfer. Please note, there is a 2.5% transaction fee added to card payments or £7.00 for bank transfer, whichever works out cheaper for you - your choice.
